LaFetch e Laura a Parigi

Come ogni sabato ecco LaFetch che ci parla di musica! Federica Farassini, nata a Biella, 26 anni, cantante e appassionata di molti generi musicali differenti. A Parigi mi ha fatto suonare il pianoforte da Shakespeare&company per poi confessarmi, qualche mese dopo: "Oggi hai suonato benissimo invece quel giorno a Parigi sembravi incapace". Con la sua ironia e competenza collabora con LesMademoiselles per arricchire il blog di una delle arti che più ha colorato la nostra vita: la musica. Oggi ci parla di Baths e lo leggo volentieri anch'io perché non so chi sia! Buon divertimento, Laura.

Baths - Obsidian

Poche storie: questo disco è una figata. E di nuovo si tratta di un Artista giovane (1989). Che bello! Ero (quasi) un po' stufa di dover ascoltare Ziggy Stardust
per sentire bella musica.

Siamo di fronte ad un ottimo musico (nonchè produttore e cantautore) che incastra alla perfezione l'esperienza elettronica con quella acustica. In questo album ci sono una quantità di "suonini" che incantano e spaventano e che si mixano alla perfezione con i synth del nostro eroe.

Il buon Will Wiesenfield, inoltre, dimostra nella struttura del disco di conoscere bene le dinamiche di mercato acchiappando il primo pubblico con il bel singolo Miasma Sky (più improntato sull'indie-rock), per poi non deludere le aspettative dei più restii con un'inanellata di brani in cui si spazia dall'ampiezza di ouvertures inaspettate, all'onirico Lynchiano, passando attraverso al tetro di troncamenti imprevisti fino al danzereccio in pieno "Thom Yorke style".

Da ascoltare se si ascoltano volentieri anche: Radiohead, Massive Attack, NIN, Björk, etc.

ma, vi prego, ascoltate (se non tutto l'album) almeno anche Ironworks, Ossuary e Earth Death, fatelo per me.

Baths - Obsidian

Few to say: this album rocks. We're, again, in front of a young Artist (1989). How happy I am! I was (nearly) a little bit bored of having to listen to Ziggy Stardust in order to hear some good music.

We're talking about a good musician (as well as a producer and singer-songwriter) that wedges perfectly the electronic experience with the acoustic one. In this album we can find out a lot of small sounds that enchant and scare and that mix up completely with our hero's synths.

The good Will Wisenfield, furthermore, proves us, in the structure of the album, of well knowing the dynamics of the market catching the first public with the nice single Miasma Sky (more characterized by an indie-rock influence), and then he doesn't let down the expectations of the more reluctant listeners with a string of songs ranging from the abundance of unexpected ouvertures, to the Lynchian dreamlike, passing through the gloomy of unforeseen apocopes and the dancing mood in full "Thom Yorke style".

To listen if you like to listen to: Radiohead, Massive Attack, NIN, Björk, etc. For the listening I suggest: Baths - Miasma Sky

but, please, listen (if not the entire album) at least to Ironworks, Ossuary and Earth Death, do it for me.
