E' sabato, allora lascio la parola a LaFetch che oggi ha voluto osare recensendoci i Queens of the Stone Age.

Una sera sera tornavamo a casa in bicicletta e si è' fatta contromano una delle strade più trafficate di Parigi. Ne è uscita illesa, ma sotto casa non ha visto un muretto e lo ha preso in pieno.

Con la sua ironia e competenza scrive su LesMademoiselles per arricchire il blog di una delle arti che più ha arricchito la nostra vita: la musica.

Queens of the Stone Age - Like Clockwork

Poco tempo fa, in seguito ad un concerto, una mia amica mi disse "beh sì, bella l'elettronica, per carità. Però quanto godi quando senti i chitarroni?!" E mai come in quell'occasione fui d'accordo con lei. Questo preambolo è perchè oggi si parla di un tanto
atteso ritorno, i Queens of the Stone Age. So che potrebbero "stonare" all'interno di questo blog, ma non importa; sono sicura che Laura e Valentina capiranno.

Quindi, dicevamo, bellissimo album. Non deludono mai i buoni e vecchi QOTSA. Diciamo che hanno trovato il loro punto qualche anno fa e lo portano avanti da sempre. La bella linea stoner che tanto ci affascinò ai tempi di Songs for the Deaf (2002) non è variata un granchè nel corso degli album (a parte qualcosina di un pochino calante in Era Vulgaris 2007). Però d'altronde dove sta scritto che cambiare è bello? Cavallo che vince non si cambia.

Album breve, anche qui (come per i Franz Ferdinand) si tratta di poche canzoni, solo 10, ma con una quantità di partecipazioni da far spavento. Andiamo dal loro ex batterista Dave Grohl, all'ex cantante Mark Lanegan, passando attraverso il cantante degli Arctic Monkeys Alex Turner, ad Elton John, all'ex bassista (qui dalle mie parti io lo definirei un po' timor --> per delucidazioni sul termine 'commentate, commentate, commentate!') Nick Oliveri e a Trent Reznor, che probabilmente firma, insieme alla band, il pezzo più convincente dell'album, Kalopsia, che proponiamo qui come ascolto: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8fuMoW0HAA 
Tutta gente che non ha combinato nulla nella vita.

P.S.: io la voce di Homme la trovo una delle più sexy del panorama musicale contemporaneo e non, così giusto perchè lo sappiate.

Queens of the Stone Age - Like Clockwork

Few time ago, after a concert, a friend of mine told me "well, I like electronic music, for God's sake. But tell me, how much do you enjoy old fashioned guitars?!". I've never agreed more with her that that moment. This introduction is because today we are going to talk about an expected coming back, Queens of the Stone Age. I know that they could jar into this blog, but I'm sure that Laura and Valentina will understand.

So, we were saying, great album. They do never let us down. Let's say that they found their point some years ago and that since that moment they carry on it. The beautiful stoner rock they play since Songs for the Deaf (2002) hasn't changed that much during the succession of the albums. But, after all, who says that changing is nice? A winning horse do not have to be changed.

Short album, here too (like Franz Ferdinand) we face few songs, only 10, but with a number of featuring to remain astonished. From their ex drummer Dave Grohl, to their ex singer Mark Lanegan, going through Arctic Monkey's singer Alex Turner, Elton John, their ex bassist Nick Oliveri and Trent Reznor, that, in my opinion, signs together with the band the most convincing song

P.S.: in my opinion Homme's voice is one of the sexiest of contemporary music. Just in order for you to know.
