Il mese di Novembre è appena iniziato ma a Roma indossiamo ancora giubbotti di pelle, rennini o al massimo mantelle di lana. A Torino invece, città dalla quale mi scrive LaFetch, si esce con il cappotto pesante e la stagione dei film sotto piumone è già iniziata. Che siate al freddo o in piena estate, il suggerimento del sabato non riguarda il vostro outfit, bensì la colonna sonora che accompagna il momento in cui vi vestite! E a parlarci di musica è la mia cara amica e collega di bravate Federica Farassini. 26 anni, nata a Biella, cantante e appassionata di musica. Critica e irriverente, anche nella vita privata, LaFetch collabora con LesMademoiselles per arricchire il blog con la qualità di recensioni scritte grazie al suo orecchio esperto. Arcade Fire - Reflektor
Non è che questa settimana io abbia avuto molta scelta nel decidere cosa recensire,
infatti l'uscita ufficiale del quarto album degli Arcade Fire è da mesi ormai l'evento più atteso del 2013. Hanno lavorato tanto e bene sulla campagna pubblicitaria (superando forse anche i Daft Punk) e hanno creato aspettative altissime su cosa sarebbe stato. Chiaro è che le pressioni dovute al fatto di dover mantenere e/o superare il livello di quello che è stato il successo mondiale di The Suburbs (2010) non devono essere state facili da digerire, e allora i nostri eroi cosa hanno fatto? Sono andati ad Haiti patria originaria di Régine Chassagne, membro poliedrico del gruppo e moglie del leader Win Butler, e da qui è partito tutto un discorso che si sviluppa perfettamente all'interno di questo doppio album di ritorno alle origini, di musica tribale, di ritmi ossessivi, di recupero di quello che si pensava superato, ma che invece è più attuale che mai. Non hanno deciso di vincere facile, hanno composto un album complesso (a livello musicale) e hanno scommesso su sé stessi e sulle loro indubbie capacità di creare situazioni coinvolgenti come pochi altri.

Due anni fa ho avuto il piacere di assistere ad un loro live e il ricordo che ho è quello di una grande festa in cui l'interazione tra il palco ed il pubblico era l'essenziale. Sono super star, ma non sono ancora 'arrivati'. Credo che quando una cosa è bella non ha bisogno di essere raccontata. Andrebbe in perdita. E' bella e basta. Bisogna mettersi a guardarla e ad ascoltarla, quindi questo è quello che dirò di quest'album: è uno splendore di riflessi. Vi piacerà. 2013 best album.
Arcade Fire - Reflektor
I had no choice of what to review this week, in fact the coming out of the 4th Arcade Fire's album is, since months, the most expected event of 2013.
They worked hard on the promotion (exceeding even Daft Punk) and they created high expectations about what it would have be.
Of course, they had a lot of pressures in order to keep and/or surpass the level of the worldwide success of The Suburbs (2010). So what did they decide to do? They went to Haiti, original homeland of Régine Chassagne, versatile member of the band as well as wife of its leader Win Butler, and from there began a matter of tribal music, of obsessive rhythms, of recovery of what we thought had been overtaken, but that instead is more actual than ever.
They decided to play hard and not the easiest way for winning, they composed a complex album (musically speaking) and they bet on themselves and on their undeniable skills of being able to create captivating situations. Two years ago I've had the pleasure to see them live and I remember this occasion as a big party where the interaction between the stage and the public is the essential. They are superstars, but they don't make a fuss. I believe that when something is beautiful it doesn't need to be described. It would loose something. You just need to look and listen to it. That's what I'm going to say about this album: it's a magnificence of reflections. You'll love it. 2013 best album.
